White Paper: CHINADA decision Chinese swimmers & the World Anti-Doping Code
“The global anti-doping community seeks clarity and answers regarding the China case involving 23 Chinese swimmers. Because the World Anti-Doping Code was not enforced in this case, the anti-doping community needs to know from WADA how and why the Code is not always enforced. A World Anti-Doping Code analysis of the results management, compliance, and investigation aspects of this case is provided in the following document.”
Joint Statement from Global Athlete and FairSport following The New York Times and ARD reports on the Positive Drug Tests of 23 Chinese Swimmers
Over the past two days, the New York Times and ARD exposed allegations that the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) covered up positive doping tests of the banned substance Trimetazidine (TMZ) from twenty-three Chinese athletes in early 2021.

The Court of Arbitration for Sport Decision
The Court of Arbitration for Sport Decision panel accepted that Forum Messages in the LIMS system were fabricated, modified and deleted in an attempt to blame and frame Dr Rodchenkov and Dr Solobevsky for the manipulations of the Russian doping scheme. These were accurately described as a stunning deception and the figurative “smoking gun” in the case. Read the full decision here.

Helsinki Commission Hearing to Examine Enforcement of Criminal Anti-Doping Law at Tokyo Olympics
At the hearing, witnesses discuss the importance of the Rodchenkov Act for victims of doping fraud and what athletes should expect going forward. Witnesses also discuss concrete aspects of the law’s enforcement—who will be responsible, how investigations would be initiated, and how perpetrators might be arrested and brought to trial for their crimes.

The passage of the Rodchenkov Anti-Doping Act marks a great day for clean athletes of the world. The sponsors and providers of doping inducements, particularly in coordinated and organized State programs, will now for the first time be liable for their actions and subject to severe financial and legal penalties.
